The 3D printing SLA process builds parts layer by layer to form a complete 3D object direct from 3D CAD data via an .STL file.
The process employs a solid-state laser, which traces the required shape across the surface of a vat containing photopolymer – solidifying the layer of material it contacts.
SLA printed parts produce higher resolution parts than any other process. Moreover, during the printing process, less force is applied to the model, ensuring that the surface finish is smooth. When intricacy and surface finish are imperative, SLA is the right process for your project.
SLA is predominantly used for designer appearance models, exhibition models, rapid prototyping of consumer goods, master patterns for vacuum casting, investment casting patterns, jigs and fixures, as well as proof-of-concept prototypes.

In-house sterolithography machines at Ogle include: iPro 8000, SLA 3500 and two SLA Vipers. The maximum build volume is 650 x 750 x 550mm.
