SERVICES: SMALL BATCH PRODUCTION

Small Batch Production
Ogle Models and Prototypes offers invaluable expertise with all of the processes within its comprehensive facility. With a thorough understanding of the requirements for rapid product development, the company can provide real solutions for small batch production using some of the more advanced in-house processes.
Both the selective laser sintering and vacuum casting processes have seen great success with small batch production projects for Ogle’s clients.
Selective laser sintering is an additive manufacturing technology that provides distinct advantages for producing low-volume production parts. Vacuum casting is a cost-effective process that allows the production of high quality, multiple models for a range of applications. In particular, vacuum casting is an ideal method to use for parts in the automotive industry for trim applications due to its great accuracy and repeatability results.
In addition, the experts at Ogle have developed a sophisticated method of bypassing the production of master models by going straight into rapid production of a mould, which proves to be quick and time efficient. Low volume production runs can be achieved in this way.
The method is called Reaction Injection Moulding (RIM) and it uses dispensing equipment to inject a fast reacting PU (polyurethane) resin, at low pressure, into a mould. Typically, RIM is mainly used for larger or simpler parts with a wall thickness of 2-3 mm or more. For example, automotive trim parts, dash, bumpers, motor cycle fairings, low run medical assemblies and covers for production machinery.
