A rally team have designed a rally car that will set their opponents' panic alarms off. When creating the prototype for testing, the team looked for opportunities to improve the car. Previously, aluminium parts and composite tooling had been used for under bonnet parts. So this time around, in order to reduce the weight and cost of the new car, they considered using SLS prototypes for the air inlet catch tank and head breather.

In order to develop these parts, the team needed a rapid prototyping company. And they didn't have to look far. Ogle Models and Prototypes have a reputation as one of the best in the business. With Ogle's knowledge and extensive experience in prototype manufacture, they were able to look at the parts and select the best materials and processes for development that reflected the rally car's demanding requirements.

Following the completion and installation of the prototypes, the team then put them through a rigorous endurance and reliability test. During the seven days in Europe, the car clocked up an impressive 1400km. The prototype parts were a roaring success and the team are now looking into using SLS and Ogle Models as a design and development tool for the future.
